Ideal for use in modern recording and broadcast studios, the DIGI-TOOL F612 from Lake People is a distribution amplifier and digital splitter designed to deliver up to four expanded AES/EBU XLR outputs for one input at sample rates as high as 24-bit / 192 kHz. The F612 features two separate modules, one with a single XLR AES/EBU input and four XLR outputs, and another with one BNC wordclock or AES-iD sync input and eight BNC outputs.
The unit features high output voltages for maintaining signal strength over very long distances, and a high input sensitivity helps to regenerate weak input signals. The F612 also sports failsafe operation thanks to its switchable multimode power supply, which automatically detects power input and switches to the appropriate voltage between 90 and 260 VAC.
To address this issue, the F611 sports AGC amplifiers to produce 4 Vpp output signals, more than enough to cover extremely long cable runs while maintaining optimal signal integrity. All I/O is balanced and both the inputs and outputs feature transformers for ensuring ideal signal strength, even allowing the unit to recover (regenerate) lost signal strength when receiving weak input signals.
- Jumpers for switching the output impedance from 75 to 50 ohms to drive improper wordclock inputs
- Jumpers to switch to AES-iD operation
- Jumpers that switch to Superclock 256 Fs
- Unbalanced BNC sockets with high input sensitivity and output voltages
- Clear LEDs for indicating if a module is active or no input signal is detected
